A New Generation of Ultra-Stable DWDM Lasers
Orbits’ ETHERNAL™ laser is a low cost, all-fiber integrated solution for sensing, LIDAR, test and measurement, and telecommunications.
The laser oscillator is made entirely of fiber in a compact, linearly shaped package. The laser’s unprecedented performance stems from the unique patent-pending architecture, which allows traveling wave operation. The laser boasts unparalleled absolute frequency stability and low noise without active control. The ETHERNAL™ laser does not need an external wavelength reference nor temperature control to operate at an ITU channel frequency. The laser can be pumped with an uncooled 980 nm laser to dramatically reduce power and heat management requirements.
